Caleb S. Lihn
Phoenix Lawyer
Caleb Lihn is a founder / partner of Thies & Lihn, PLLC. After obtaining
his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University, with a major
in psychology, Caleb attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge
School of Law. At McGeorge, he was selected to write for and edit the
school's international law journal, The Transnational Lawyer. Upon
graduating from McGeorge, Caleb returned to Arizona and became a successful
litigation attorney at two major civil defense law firms in Phoenix. After
honing litigation and dispute resolution skills, he joined a small minority
of lawyers who continued their legal education and obtained an LL.M. degree
with an emphasis in estate planning and elder law.
Caleb's practice includes Medicaid (ALTCS) planning, special needs
planning / trusts, estate planning, probate, and guardianships / conservatorships.
Caleb’s emphasis in special needs planning began when his youngest
daughter was diagnosed, in utero, with a rare and serious heart defect,
necessitating three open heart surgeries within her first three years
of life. On the other end of the spectrum, Caleb previously had a close
family member diagnosed with an illness requiring long-term care planning,
thus triggering an interest and passion in elder law. While navigating
his own family through the complex and stressful worlds of special needs
planning and elder law, a passion to assist other individuals and families was born.
Caleb is a member of Elder Counsel and the National Academy of Elder Law
Attorneys as a member of the Guardianship and Special Needs Law Steering
committees. He was recently included in the 2015 list of
Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠. Caleb was nominated by his peers to be a sustaining member of Arizona’s
Finest Lawyers. He is also a Judge Pro Tem for Maricopa County Superior
Court and has earned an AV Preeminent® Rating by Martindale Hubbell®
for excellence in legal ability and ethics.
